You are asked to write an essay on the topic proposed by the Leverhulme Centre for the Future
of Humanity (http://lcfi.ac.uk/), “Intelligent Machines will help us do everything better”. Discuss
with respect to Social Innovation.
You are expected to write 2500 words, not including references. You should use Google Docs
and give access to the instructor who will periodically review and provide feedback on your
work. Do make sure to use the ACM template for style and the Zotero application for
referencing.
You may write the essay collectively, in teams of up to 3, but for every additional team member
increase the expectation with respect to length by 1000 words.
Note with respect to groups—
If you do decide to work in groups, you do so at your own risk. Every group member must
submit their own version of the paper to be evaluated separately and this will not take into
consideration individual contributions to the group. If one member exits a group, everyone has
access to the current version of the paper irrespective of their contribution.
A rubric on how the essay will be evaluated will be released in due course.
