INSTRUCTIONS

Your answer to either of the given questions above can be based on your personal tourism
experience. Addressing your research question, you can develop your report in a global
context, or as a (comparative) case study specific to any countries or regions. You are
expected to integrate a wide range of references including journal articles, books or book
chapters. Newspaper articles or any documents published by governments or non-
governmental organisations can be cited. However, do not cite any non-refereed web
materials (e.g. materials from http://en.wikipedia.org). Anything that is not specified in the
writing instructions in this course outline should be under your discretion.

Presentation and layout

The report should be presented tidily. Main text should be in 12-point Times New Roman or
10.5-point Arial with 1.5 line spacing and 1-inch margins. A system of headings and sub-
headings as appropriate, including an introductory section and a concluding section, is
expected. Allow a blank line space before starting a new paragraph. Place a page number at
the bottom of every page.
