Sections
There will be a one hour section every week. The time of the section is to be determined. These
sections will review material covered in lectures. Sections will also review some R commands
that will be useful for understanding the class material and completing assignments.
Grades
Five homework assignments (25% of final grade)
There will be assignments due roughly every two weeks during the first weeks of the semester.
The assignments and associated material will be posted to CourseWorks by 8:30 am (ET) on
Mondays and will be due back by 8:30 am (ET) the following Monday. The assignments should
be submitted to CourseWorks. Assignments turned in after 8:30 am on the due date will have 5
percentage points deducted for each 12 hour period following the due date and time (e.g., late
assignments turned in after 8:30 am (ET) and before 8:30 pm (ET) the day after the due date will
have 15 percentage points deducted).
Before assignments are due, there will be a drop-in homework help session for students who have
last minute questions about the assignments. The time of these sessions is to be determined.
Collaboration policy
Each student is responsible for submitting his or her own solutions to the assignment (this includes
computer code). Students may discuss the assignments with other students in the class, however,
we strongly recommend that students attempt to work through the assignments on their own before
consulting classmates. The names of all collaborators must be written on the assignment
